Madeline got this Princess castle for her birthday and it was an instant hit. We put it together and that's all the kids wanted to play with for the rest of the day. Mad calls it " The tallest tower"

Ahoy there Matey

For the invitations to Madeline's party I put together a little message in bottle for the kids. I heard later that one of the kids liked it so much she even slept with it at night. Our invitation read:

Ahoy there matey!
Pirate Captain Madeline is turning three!
So join us for a Pirate Birthday Party!
She needs shipmates to swab the deck, walk the plank and hunt for the long, lost treasure…
A sailor's lunch and a pirate cake will also be there for your pleasure! Please say you'll come for a swashbuckling fun Pirate Birthday party!
We set sail on the 11th of June. Captain Madeline's Pirate Ship is docked in Londonderry.

Pirate Party Prep

The night before Madeline's party we set up all the games and decorations. Including map making island, cannon ball  toss (water balloons), pirate signs, ships and balloons. As well as lots and lots of treasure.
Madeline told Brad he was Mr Smee ( from Peter Pan)  and she was Captain Hook :)

Please say you're here to stay

My mom ( Mad and Spenc's Bubbie) came to stay with us for a couple weeks in June. We love having her here with us. Even now, over a month later Madeline still comes up to me with big tears in her eyes and says"I miss my Bubbie" When I tell her she is at her own house she says "No. She is with Poppie" ( My dad) We miss you and love you. Thank you for everything mom.

Madeline's 3rd Birthday

We had a little family party for Mad which included skyping with her grandparents while she opened presents. Trying to skype with both sets of grandparents was definitely something to remember... Glad we did it though. Her Pirate Party with friends is coming up.
