No, I had to do it. It was her first hair cute and I cried way more then she did. She has been pulling out her hair for the past year... long story. It got to the point where she really didn't have a whole lot left, so we cut it. Happily since we cut it she has stopped pulling so that's good. But I am DESPERATE for it to grow back.
